Pastures with rear cattle

In Aurachtal between Walsdorf and Kolmsdorf a larger area with rear cattle is grazed year-round since 2006. The animals are to take over the ecological function of the extinct aurochs, while preserving biodiversity hotspots and design. The name of Herzogenaurach is derived from the aurochs, the counted into the Middle Ages to the native fauna. In the future, beyond even water buffalo grazing in Aurachtal as these as opposed to the rear cattle also eat reeds.
