Aurela

Aurela was a Lithuanian charter airline based in Vilnius and base on the Vilnius airport.

History

Aurela was founded in 1995 as the first private airline of Lithuania and started operations in 1996 with a Tupolev Tu- 134A on. 2001 Hawker HS -125 -700 an eight -seater machine for VIP flights was procured. 2003, the fleet was expanded by a JAK- 42D. 2004, which Lithuania joined the European Union in the year, the JAK- 42D for economic reasons was replaced with a Boeing 737-300. The most prominent passengers were the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and Pope John Paul II in 2004 and 2005. Due to the strict rules on flights in the EU, the JAK -42 was finally ausgeflottet in 2005 and returned to the leasing company. 2006, a second 737-300 was leased and purchased a new Hawker 850XP for VIP charter flights. Since Aurela could not meet the financial requirements of the Ministry of Aviation, the airline was deprived of his pilot's license on 18 February 2013. July 2013, insolvency proceedings. Objectives

From Vilnius offered Aurela on scheduled flights to Berlin, Frankfurt and Hanover as well as other destinations in Europe. There are also charter flights for tourism company in holiday regions such as Southern Europe and Africa, as well as special summer flights to Tel Aviv.
