Aurelio Juri

Aurelio Juri ( born July 27, 1949 in Pula, Yugoslavia, now Croatia) is a Slovenian politician.

He lives in Koper, where in 1968 the Italian language school passed his Abitur. 1972-1990 he worked as a journalist for the Italian-speaking radio and television in Koper.

1989/90 he was a member of the Central Committee of the Slovenian National Association of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia. 1994 to 1997 he was mayor of Koper. From 1996 to 2008 he was a deputy in the national parliament.

As substitutes for Borut Pahor he was from 7 November 2008 until the end of the legislative period ( 2009) Member of the European Parliament. As representatives of the democratic Socialni he belonged to the faction of the Party of European Socialists. He was a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the Delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee. The Committee on Foreign Affairs, he belonged to a deputy member.

In June 2009, he announced his exit party, which he founded with the attitude of the party in tense relations with neighboring Croatia.

Family

His brother Franco Juri and his son Luka Juri are Members of the Slovenian Parliament.
