The Aursunden is a lake in the municipality of Røros in Sør-Trøndelag Fylke in Norway. The lake lies at an altitude of 690 m and has an area of 46 km ². The waters in the upper reaches of the Glomma is geographically the 23rd largest lake in Norway. The Aursunden is regulated. Is the Kuråsfoss power plant ( 10.6 MW), which is operated by the municipalities own Røros E- verk At its drain.

Fish stocks in Aursunden are varied. The most common finding is the Coregonus, which was introduced in the 1900s. There are also trout, grayling, perch and minnows.

Brekken and Glåmos are the two largest towns on the lake. In addition, a number of village communities are located around the lake.

North of the Aursunden at Sakrisvolden is the only place in Scandinavia, where the flower Aster sibiricus growing.
