Aurum Geyser

The Aurum Geyser is a geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the United States. He is there on the formation Geyser Hill.

The Aurum Geyser is one of the nozzle-like geysers.

The eruption intervals of the geyser may from time to time be reasonably well predicted. At other times, see the eruptions take place very irregular. Observations led to the theory that Aurum's activity behind the geyser is related to the meadows. When the meadows are wet, then breaks the geyser regularly with an interval between the eruptions (IBE ) of three to four hours. When the meadows late summer and early fall dry out the interval between eruptions is less predictable and moves between four and seven hours. Like most Geysers Geyser Hill is subject to Aurum also a weekly period.

The eruptions last about 90 seconds. The fountain reached heights litter from 4.5 to 7.6 meters. The eruption is announced half an hour in advance by blowing in two small neighboring chimneys usually. Often following the main flare after 5 to 10 minutes, a further smaller eruption.

The Aurum Geyser can be observed via the Internet in general from the Old Faithful WebCam from. He is there, however, relatively inconspicuous.
