Auslegeschrift

Until 31 December 1956, the German Patent and Trade Mark Office ( DPMA) published only patents. From 1 January 1957 to 1981 in addition Auslegeschriften were created, which were published before the patent. For Auslegeschriften the publication numbers were used starting with 1000000.

A Laid was a publication of the audited and approved application in order to give third parties the possibility of appeal before the patent is granted. Occurred within the opposition period of three months no objection, the patent was granted and published the patent.

Since 1981, no more Auslegeschriften be published, but there is only one published patent application 18 months after the filing date ( or possibly an earlier priority date) and after grant a patent.
