Austin 18/24

The Austin 18/24 hp was a mid-size car by the Austin Motor Company produced as a successor of the first Austin 15/20 hp from 1907 to 1909. 1911-1913 was again offered a car with that name.

Year by year

The first Austin 18/24 hp took over the side-valve four-cylinder in-line engine with 105 mm bore diameter and 127 mm stroke, giving a displacement of 4399 cc, from its predecessor 15/20 hp. The chassis of the four-seater touring car was grown with 3200 mm wheelbase but clear.

From 1908, in addition to the long and the the 15/20 hp known, short chassis with two seats was offered again. Late 1909 and the 18/24 hp was terminated without direct successor.

Was published in 1911, another car with the designation 18/24 hp. His page also controlled four-cylinder engine had cylinders with 111 mm bore diameter and the crankshaft of the great Austin models with 127 mm stroke. This resulted in a displacement of 4832 cc.

This touring car was also available in two different wheelbases and represented the upper middle class in the Austin model range. 1914, the 18/24 hp was eliminated without replacement.
