The Austin A35 was a small car the Austin Motor Company. It was developed on the basis of the Austin A30 and brought to market in 1956.

The self-supporting bodies of the 2-door and 4-door saloon ( sedan ) and the 3-door Van ( Kombi) corresponded to the previous model, essentially. Later, it was also a 2-door pickup offered. The differences to the model A30 were a larger rear window, a warning system in place of the fiddler and a larger engine. Its engine capacity was 948 cc, 34 bhp its power (25 kW). The sedan thus reaching 117 km / h

To make a tax -effective vehicle available to small business people, they came up with the idea of offering a small pickup. The motor vehicle tax should also be measured not by the size of engine, but according to the payload. No sooner was the model on the market, but it turned out that the British tax authorities that tax only recognized if at least 2/3 of the length of the vehicle stood as a loading area available. Since this was not the case, the usual tax had to be paid for the new "savings " model. Thus, the cargo area because of its short impractical se pickup was virtually unsaleable. The few copies produced were delivered as a demonstration of the Austin offices and usually ended as workshop trolley. Today, this model is particularly sought after by collectors.

In 1962, the production of the Austin A35 saloons was adjusted. Austin A40 Farina was the successor. The station wagon was further built until 1968, towards the end with a further enlarged engine of the Successor ( 1098 cc, 48 bhp / 35 kW).
