Austin Pendleton

Austin Pendleton ( born March 27, 1940 in Warren, Ohio ) is an American actor.

Life and achievements

Pendleton studied at Yale University. He made his debut in 1968, first in not listed on parts, then opposite Jackie Gleason and Groucho Marx as Professor Fred in the comedy Skidoo. In the comedy What's Up, Doc? he appeared at the side of Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal in the role of Frederick Larrabee.

In the film, Tess and her bodyguard (1994 ) Pendleton played the role of Earl Fowler, the driver and kidnappers of Tess Carlisle, played by Shirley MacLaine. For his role in the movie A Beautiful Mind - Beautiful Mind (2001) he was nominated for the 2002 Screen Actors Guild Award.

Pendleton is a member of the 1979 Chicago Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble since. He also appeared in numerous Broadway theater pieces such as Fiddler on the Roof and in some off-Broadway plays and directed. For the director of the play The Little Foxes, he was nominated in 1981 for a Tony Award.

Pendleton is married to actress Katina Commings since 1970 and has one child.
