Austin Trout

Austin Trout ( born September 18, 1985 in Las Cruces, New Mexico) is an American professional boxer and former world champion of the WBA light middleweight.

Boxing career

As an amateur boxer, he played 205 fights, of which he won 163. In 2004 he was American welterweight champion and came in the alternative selection for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, where he ultimately did not participate. At the U.S. Championships in 2005, he reached the 3rd place in the welterweight division.

On 16 September 2005, he was in Albuquerque his professional debut against Justo Almazan and won by TKO in Round 3 Also his next seven fights he could decide prematurely, including against former Mid- American champion Raúl Muñoz. On 21 December 2007 he defeated the former champions Mexican and Latino Master of the WBO, Erik Rafael Esquivel by unanimous points victory.

On March 14, 2009, he secured in El Paso by TKO in round 2 vs. Martin Avila the vacant " Continental Americas title " the WBA light middleweight. On 31 July the same year, he also achieved a TKO win in round 8 against former interim world champion of WBC, Marcos Primera. On September 5, he won by points Nilson Julio Tapia victory against the " Fedelatin title " the WBA light middleweight.

On 5 February 2011, he won in Guadalajara by unanimous points win over Rigoberto Alvarez ( 27-2 ) for the vacant WBA champion belt at light middleweight and defended the title on June 11 against North American champion David López ( 40-12 ). On November 11, he defended the title by TKO in round 6 against Australian Frank LoPorto ( 15-4 ).

On 2 June 2012, he won his third title defense unanimous decision against Delvin Rodriguez ( 26-5 ). On December 1, 2012, he sat down unanimously by on points against Miguel Cotto ( 37-3 ). On April 20, 2013, denied a title unification against WBC champion Saúl Álvarez ( 41-0 ) to this was beaten on points, however.

When you re- fight for the WBA World Championship on December 7, 2013 in New York City, he lost on points against Erislandy Lara.

Others

Austin Trout is engaged to Taylor Hardardt, which is also coordinating its management assistant " No Doubt Entertainment". They also appeared in the reality television series Say Yes to the Dress in which she was looking for in New York for the perfect wedding outfit.

On New Year's night 2013 Trout was taken into custody on suspicion of being drunk in public and suspicion of involvement in a fight in El Paso, but was released after two hours. The allegations could not be substantiated.
