The parliamentary election was held in Australia in 2007 after a six- week election campaign of the parties on 24 November 2007. It was the election for the 42nd Australian Parliament. Of the two chambers of parliament, the House of Representatives (lower house ) was completely and partially re-elected to the Senate (upper house). There is a choice about 13.6 million Australian voters were called.

The election was won in a landslide victory by the opposition, led by Kevin Rudd as chairman of the Australian Social Democratic Labor Party. The previous government under John Howard ruled previously since the parliamentary elections in Australia in 1996. Minister John Howard lost his own constituency of Bennelong, which he had held since 1974, the Labor MP Maxine McKew.
