The Australian Mist, formerly known as the Spotted Mist and known under the German name Australian veil Cat, is a erzüchtete in Australia short-haired cat breed.

Description

The breed was came to its own by Dr Truda Straede in Australia in 1976. It originated from the crossroads of Burmese with Abyssinians and house cats to get a shorthaired cat with a spotted coat. In 1998, marbled cats with the drawing ( blotched, marbled ) in the race were recognized, was the name of ' Spotted Mist ' changed to ' Australian Mist '.

The Australian Mist is a medium-sized short-haired cat with a round head and large, expressive eyes. The coat color has three levels: The ground color is lighter than the drawing. The drawing is delicate, darker than the base color but clearly visible. The drawing appears under a veil of steady ticking. The Australian Mist is available in seven colors: Brown ( Black), Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Gold ( Cinnamon ), Peach ( Fawn) and Caramel ( here are obviously all colors combined with Dilution modifier ).

Since the Australian Mist is a relatively young breed, there are most breeders in Australia and New Zealand. There are, however, more and more worldwide. In WCF it has reached the Champion status. 2006 has reached its 20th anniversary as a breed with champion status, the Australian Mist.
