Australian Secret Intelligence Service

The Australian Secret Intelligence Service ( ASIS; German Australian Secret Intelligence Service ) is similar to the British Secret Intelligence Service or the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, an Australian news service. His role, however, is significantly narrower in focus.

The service is prohibited by law to conduct paramilitary operations. There are also no reports of such activities after a spectacularly failed training mission at the Sheraton Hotel in Melbourne on 30 November 1983. Trainees Here Australian agents were arrested by police and charged with a long list of offenses.

ASIS is the Australian external information gathering authority. It is a part of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ( roughly the outer and Ministry of Foreign Trade ). Almost all the staff of ASIS are outside of Australia in use since the authority mainly collects information. ASIS evaluates the data do not themselves, but gives them to other agencies ( ASIO, DSD, the Office of National Assessment) further analysis.

The Australian government has ever admitted even the existence of this top-secret organization only in recent years.
