Austro Engine
Austro Engine is an Austrian aircraft engine manufacturer. The company is based in Vienna in the Lower Austrian town of Neustadt.
History
On 22 October 2007 the foundation stone was laid for the Diamond Aircraft and founded by a management company aircraft engine plant. The company has invested 13 million euro in the production facility to produce reciprocating and rotary engines. Austro Engine was founded when after the insolvency of Thielert ( the pioneer in diesel aircraft engines) and the continued availability of the engines was unclear. Austro Engine has now developed into an Austrian key companies in the engine area. It succeeded Austro Engine already to develop a modern diesel engine, which was approved by both EASA and FAA, and thus attack the market leader Lycoming.
