Austrobaileyales

The Austrobaileyales represent one of the orders of the basal angiosperms; they contain three families.
Features
At this order include woody, often liane -like species. The wood parenchyma is paratracheal. The nodes are unilakunär with two leaf-trace strands.
The vascular bundles of the leaf stalks are bent. The stomata are often laterocytisch. There are frequently secretion cells ( Austrobaileyaceae and Schisandraceae ) On the underside of leaves. The embryo sac is vierzellig at least in Schisandra and Austrobaileya and consists only of a pole core, two synergids and the egg.
The fruits are berry-like. The cells of the Mesotesta the seeds are sclerotic. The endosperm is starchy.
