Authentic Party of the Mexican Revolution

The Partido de la Revolución Mexicana Auténtico ( PARM; German: Authentic Party of the Mexican Revolution ) was established in 1955 under the leadership of Juan Barragan and G. Jacinto B. Treviño by veterans of the Mexican Revolution political party, which existed until 2000. It was considered a satellite party of the ruling Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI ).

History

The founding idea was born when some veterans of the Revolution could not further identify with the policies of the PRI. With the intention of founding a new party, supported Barragán and Treviño, both generals of the revolutionary period and holders of political government offices, the incumbent President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, in the establishment of an independent, but coalescing party again saw advantages and the founding of the PARM and their participation in elections and in the Congress of the Union, Mexico agreed.

1994 lost the PARM their approval as a national party, got this in 1999 with regard to the presidential elections in the following year again, for they Porfirio Muñoz Ledo established as candidates. Due to a conflict between the party and its candidate, Muñoz Ledo joined eventually returned one month before the elections in favor of Vicente Fox of his candidacy. The PARM accepted, neither that decision nor could it be a new candidate at Instituto Federal Electoral register, and thereby lost the approval as a national party.

Presidential candidates

Up to and including 1988, the PARM without establishing an autonomous candidates competed in electoral alliances, up to and including 1982 with the PRI and the PPS and 1988 together with the PPS, the PFCRN, the PMS as " Frente Democrático Nacional ". 1994 candidate Álvaro Pérez Treviño for the PARM Porfirio Muñoz Ledo and 2000 was originally set up, but resigned shortly before the election of his candidacy.
