Authorization certificate
An attribute certificate is a digital certificate and constitutes digitally signed by a trusted authority bond between certain digital information ( attributes ) and a further thus attributed digital certificate
Creation and Purpose
An attribute certificate can be generated by any trusted authority, and in particular must not this be the same as the certification body of the user's certificate.
The attribute certificate itself contains a reference to the certificate and one or more properties that can be read trustworthy. In this way, properties can be mapped to a trusted certificate in the context of very different applications and in different environments, without having to change the original certificate.
Application
Attribute certificates typically characterize properties that characterize either the certificate itself or the person closer:
- To identify the role (s ) that may assume the person in a system
- For identifying a professional or technical qualifications of the person and related entitlements
- For identifying a use restriction of the certificate, for example, " transaction to a maximum of 100,00 EUR "
- Economic computer science
- Digital certificates
