Autoinoculation

Under autoinoculation is understood in medical microbiology and infectious diseases caused by the human or animal even spread of pathogens from an infected body part to another. The carry-over is done by smear infection ( Kontaktabsiedelung ) when recording, for example, with the hands of the pathogen and then a new infection is set by rubbing, touching or scratching.

The auto-inoculation is usually done with the hands or limbs of the animal, but also by rubbing or scratching indirectly with objects or surfaces. Typical infections are due to an auto-inoculation, are infections of the eye ( rubbing of pyogenic organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus or viruses such as herpes simplex virus ) and infectious diseases of the skin such as skin mycoses, Molluscum contagiosum or warts.

The concept of auto-inoculation is also in Metastatic tumor cells within the organism used ( Implantationsmetastase ).
