Autolycus

Autolycus (Greek Αὐτόλυκος, Latinized Autolycus ) is a thief in Greek mythology.

As the son of the god Hermes and Chione he was under the protection of which, surpassing all other people thieves skill. He was the grandfather of Odysseus mother, who inherited his cunning. Autolycus ' father gave him the ability to change the appearance of all that he stole and never to be caught. Autolycus stole the cattle of Sisyphus, but was outwitted, as this had marked the animals under their hooves and the tracks to Autolycus ' followed stables.

Autolycus stole the leather Eberzahnhelm of Amyntors. About Amphidamas, Molo and Meriones the helmet went into the hands of Odysseus.
