Automedon

Automedon (Greek Αὐτομέδων ) is a figure from Greek mythology.

Automedon the son of Diores was ( in turn son of Amarynceus king of Buprasion ), who went with ten ships of Scyros against Troy. He was regarded as the charioteer of Achilles, and seemed simultaneously a close confidant of his friend Patroclus to have been. Often he is not mentioned in the legend of the Trojan war, and yet he is characterized as a brave hero, such as the fight with the Aretus and at the storming of the fortress Ilion.
