The Autostrada A14 ( for, A14 ' in Italian), also Autostrada Adriatica (Italian for " Adriatic highway " ) called, is an Italian motorway which connects the north of the country with the extreme southeast. It begins with Bologna, via cities such as Ancona, Pescara and Bari, and ends at Taranto. Course

The A14 is the second longest Italian motorway and next to the A1, the main north-south connection in Italy. It leads almost in its entire route along the Italian Adriatic coast.

Section Bologna - Rimini

The highway leads in this section at the edge of the Po Valley eastwards to the Adriatic coast. This is one of the few sections of the A14, which is not the way the Adriatic follows. Here they also connects the tourist resorts Rimini and Riccione with Bologna.

The A14 begins west of the capital of Emilia -Romagna, Bologna, in northern Italy. Here the branches of the A1 (Autostrade del Sole ). Section Rimini -Pescara

This 230 km long section is located in the Italian regions of Marche and Abruzzo. Here, the A14 leads almost directly along the sea, parallel to the Strada Statale 16 Adriatica, which was the most important road in this section the construction of the A14.

After the region border with Emilia -Romagna, the highway runs along the towns of Pesaro, Fano and Senigallia over to the capital of the brands. Expansion of state

Further plans

History

In the early 1960s, work began on a city bypass of Bologna. The Autostrada del Sole ( A1) between Milan and Bologna was opened in 1959, in 1960 the section between Bologna and Florence.
