The Autostrada A33 (Italian for, highway A33 ' ), also called Autostrada delle Langhe, is an Italian motorway in the north west of the country, which will result after completion of Asti and Cuneo. It is approved for a total time of 54.66 kilometers for traffic after total completion, it will be 90.14 km long. A33 is composed of two sections which are not interconnected. The highway is a toll road and is located entirely in the Italian regions of Piedmont. The highway is managed by the Italian motorway company Autostrada Asti -Cuneo.

Course

After her full completion of the A33 Asti will lead up to Cuneo. The A33 however, consists of two completely separate sections.

  • The northern section is 58.20 km long and runs from Asti Alba over to the A6. Here are currently 42.35 km in operation.
  • The southern section branches at Carrų from the A6 and leads to Cuneo. It is 31.94 km long, of which 12.31 km are in operation.

The A6 is a 40 -kilometer route between the northern part of the A33 and the southern dar.

The new highway will have bridges with a length of 9.1 km and tunnels with a total length of 10 km. A total of 11 interchanges are planned.

Section 1: Asti - A6

The SS 231 di Santa Vittoria runs between Asti and Cuneo practically almost identical to the A33.

The SS 231 is expanded between Asti Est and Rocca Schiavino four lanes over a length of 6.5 km, here is the extension to the A33 and following the A21 currently in the planning phase. The 2.23 km from Rocca Schiavino and Isola d'Asti (current end of the A33 ) is currently under construction.

In Rocca Schiavino a feeder road (Italian Diramazione ) to form the Western Bypass of Asti and join the A33 to the A21.

The section between Isola d' Asti and Castagnito (length: 14.7 kilometers ) is already opened. He was released on 16 April 2007 to traffic. Here, the highway runs along the river Tanaro south-west facing and has 4 connection points.

Between Castagnito and Cherasco the highway is currently interrupted. In this section, the SS 231 is the four-lane ring road of Alba. This section will be integrated into the A33. The section was divided into two sections,

  • 2.5 Guarene - Roddi with a length of 6.15 km
  • 2.6 Roddi - Cherasco with a length of 8.88 km

Both of which are still in planning.

The final section between Cherasco and the connection with the A6 has already been completed. It was opened on 18 June 2007.

Section 2: A6 - Cuneo

Near Carrų the second section of the A33 from the A6 branches. He leads westwards 12.3 km to S. Albano Stura, where the current end of the motorway is located. This section was opened as the first of the A33 on 29 July 2005.

The section of S. Albano Stura on Casteletto up to Cuneo ( contract section 1.3 and 1.4) was opened on 20 February 2012 and opened to traffic. The plan is a further extension of the A33, with Cuneo to west round and thus the city receives a ring road.
