Auxiliary ship

Auxiliary ships are civilian ships in the service of a Marine who did not serve to direct combat operations, but provide logistical support to the combat units. Essentially, including electronic intelligence ships or supply ships of all kinds, such as tankers, but also tugs and port services as well as special vehicles are summarized.

Auxiliary ships can carry light armament, but are not militarily occupied, but manned by civilian crews.

Unlike combat ships are not registered in the list of warships support vessels; as a sign of their status, they run into many countries instead of the flag of the naval forces of a special flag. In the case of the German Navy that is the federal service flag.
