Auzout (crater)

Auzout is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the lunar front side, near the southern edge of the Mare Crisium, north of the crater Firmicus. The rim is slightly eroded, the interior is uneven and has traces of landslides on.

The crater was formed in 1961 officially named by the IAU by the French astronomer and physicist Adrien Auzout.
