Av Beit Din, Av Beis Din ( Ashkenazi pronunciation ) or Av Beth Din ( אב בית דין ), Hebrew ( "Lord of the Court " ), was the second highest rank of the Sanhedrin, that is the direct representative of the Nasi. They are considered wise.
