Avenir Club Avignonnais

Avignon Football 84 is a French football club based in Avignon, capital of the French department of Vaucluse (atomic number 84).

It was founded in 1931 as the Association Sportive Avignonaise. This was the name of the club until the early 1960s, then merged with a club from the district of Saint -Jean and called himself Olympique Avignonais - under this name he recorded his biggest hits to this day. 1992 after Olympique had fallen into serious financial distress and merged with the Sporting Club, was a further renaming to Club Olympique Avignonais; In 2003, he took on its current name.

The club colors are black and white; league team plays at the Parc des Sports, where 7,500 spectators. (August 2006)

League membership

Professional status of 1942-1948, 1965-1981 and again 1989-1991 obsessed Avignon.
