AVG (software)

AVG Anti-Virus is anti -virus software and the core product of the Czech company AVG Technologies.

Properties

AVG Anti-Virus is designed modularly. It has basic functions such as detection of malware, trojans, viruses, worms, and spyware. In addition, the software offers such as verification of search engine results for their safety, using its proprietary technology LinkScanner. The version of AVG Antivirus 2013 has also integrated a PC optimization tool.

Variants

AVG Internet Security is a personal firewall, and additional components added that sometimes incorporated later in other versions. Thus, the Identity Protection, which detects previously unknown malicious software on their behavior, introduced with this version.

The Business Edition includes each of a management program to install and configure networks from a central location.

For home users, the free version of AVG Anti- Virus Free is available. Your protection is limited to the most private uses of the Internet, searching and reading Web pages, and participation in social networks.

Also free is the AVG Rescue CD, a Linux-based image that a bootable CD or a USB flash drive to start the computer and can check or repair the system.

The Company's shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol AVG.

Anti-Virus from Grisoft has at times been offered by Microsoft.
