Avgust Ipavec
Avgust Ipavec (* 1940 in Gorizia, Italy ) is a Slovenian- Austrian priest, composer and conductor.
Life
After completing his theological studies in Ljubljana, he was followed by a study of composition at the Music Academy there, which he finished just as successful. Since 1976 he has lived in Vienna, where he works as a composer, conductor and hospital chaplain. Ipavec mainly writes works for large choirs ( oratorios, masses, etc.), as well as symphonies and operas.
On 4 December 2006 him the Gold Medal of the Republic of Austria was awarded.
