Avia BH-1

The Avia BH-1 was a Czechoslovakian sport aircraft by 1920. She was the first model of the aircraft company founded in 1919 Avia Akciová Společnost per prumysl Letecký and at the same time the development team Beneš / Hajn. It created three different versions.

The first model was the single-seat BH-1 Exprevit, first flew in 1920. Designed she was a single-engine low-wing monoplane of wood with two struts per side, which abstützten the wings to the fuselage. The span was 10.08 m, length 5.86 m. Was powered by a motorcycle engine with 22 kW (30 hp) Daimler. She was introduced to the public in the same year at the Prague Airshow.

Also in 1920, was the BH- 1 having altered tail, wherein the rudder has been omitted. Both types were test samples.

Finally, the slightly shorter BH- 1to appeared. It was designed for two pilots and was powered by a Gnôme Omega engine. She made 1921 for various display flying attention.

Beneš and Hajn justified with the BH-1 their series of modern monoplane, which created quite a stir with the BH -16 from 1924 came to a close. With its aircraft aerobatics began in Czechoslovakia.
