Avicide
As Avizid ( bird poison) refers to a chemical substance that is used to kill birds.
Examples of Avicides:
- Strychnine
- 3 -chloro-4 -methylaniline. The derived hydrochloride CPTH (3-chloro -p-toluidine hydrochloride ) is common in the United States under the trade name Starlicide. These substances are toxic to starlings and gulls, but less toxic to mammals.
- 4- aminopyridine in the U.S. under the trade name Avitrol. Avitrol is toxic to fish and highly toxic to mammals and therefore in the U.S. only limited approved for use.
- Chloralose, a chlorinated acetal derivative of glucose, which is also used as a rodenticide use
- In the past, highly concentrated formulations of parathion (E 605) were used in diesel oil that you sprayed from airplanes over the nesting colonies of birds.
