Avignon Regional County Municipality
Avignon is a regional county municipality (French municipalité régional du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.
It is located in the administrative region of Gaspésie- Îles- de -la -Madeleine and consists of 13 subordinate administrative units (a city, nine towns, a Canton community and two unincorporated areas). The MRC was founded on 18 March 1981. The main town is Nouvelle. The population is 15,037 and the area of 3480.4 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 4.3 inhabitants per km ².
