Avinor

Avinor AS is a Norwegian state-owned enterprises and Norway's largest owners of airports.

The company operates 46 airports, of which twelve are owned by the Norwegian armed forces. In addition Avinor has safety systems such as radar installations, radio and transmitter facilities and control centers.

Avinor emerged from the former Norwegian Luftfartsverket. In 2003 Avinor was registered as a (fully ) public corporation. Avinor is from the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications ( in Norwegian called Samferdselsdepartementet ) managed.

Air traffic control

Air traffic control is a division of Avinor. The Air Navigation Service is divided into two areas. The first section controls the air traffic over the Norwegian mainland, the second area, the area over the North Atlantic.

The activities extends to the installation of ATM / CNS systems.
