Avner Shats

Avner treasure. (Hebrew אבנר ש"ץ, also Avner Shats; * 1959 in Kiryat Yam, Israel) is an Israeli writer, living in Haifa, he won the 1990 the first short story contest Haaretz newspaper with his story " figs " written from the viewpoint of a fictional Palestinian girl. Shortly afterwards he published the collection Maagalim Mudpasim (Printed circuits ). 1997, his first novel Lashut el Hashkia got (sailing into the sunset ) the Schweipert award of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 2000 he was a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies, where he started with the still unpublished novel 42. 2005 he published a rhymed children's book ( Hila and sock fish).

Treasure is considered Israel's flagship postmodernist. He won for example the free participation in the prominent poetry workshop of Mishkenot Sha'ananim with poems written by his protagonists in the novel Elad Manor. His works are currently not yet available in German, in a few cases in Russian, Chinese and English.
