Avogadro is an old crater, which is located on the northern hemisphere, but on the far side of the moon. It has the coordinates of 63 ° 06 'N 164 ° 54', O and has an average diameter of 139 km. It was named after Amedeo Avogadro.

The formation presents itself due to continuous further strikes in a heavily worn and eroded state, so that the edge more than a rounded corner is little that surrounds the crater sink. The crater floor is also worn and dotted with a large number of smaller craters of different sizes. Many of these small craters are also eroded and appears only as a matter imprint on the surface.
