Avon Products Inc. is a U.S. company based in New York. The company was founded by David McConnell. He began as a bookseller and gave little perfume samples as a refreshment to its customers. When he noticed that people were very interested in perfume, he developed into a company. Classic sells its products through Avon " Avon Ladies" ( sales consultants ).

History

McConnell founded in 1886 in Manhattan, New York, the "California Perfume Company " and began to sell perfume door- to-door. The California Perfume Company in 1939 was renamed Avon Products Inc.. The name Avon is a tribute to William Shakespeare and his birthplace of Stratford- upon- Avon. The Avon offices in Germany and the UK were founded in 1959.
