Avricourt (Meurthe-et-Moselle)

Avricourt is a commune with 407 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

The community Avricourt located about 20 kilometers southwest of Sarrebourg on the border to neighboring Moselle.

History

The place was up to the German - French war part of the community Avricourt in the neighboring department of Moselle, which was ceded by the Frankfurt Peace Treaty in May 1871 to the German Reich.

Renegotiation France was the southern part of the community get back together with the 1852 built railway station in October, 1871.

Even after return of the rest of Avricourt to France after the First World War, the two communities remained separate.
