Avtoframos
The OAO Avtoframos (Russian OAO Автофрамос / Awtoframos ) is a company founded in 1998 joint venture of the Renault Group and the City of Moscow for the distribution and production of automobiles. Approximately 2,300 workers are employed here under the leadership of CEO Christian Esteve in Moscow plant. After the commencement of work only 80,000 vehicles were first produced here every year for the local market. In May 2010, we doubled the capacity for a plant expansion to 160,000 units. Renault is involved in the joint effort to 94.1 percent, the Bank of Moscow, however, assumes the remaining 5.9 percent. In the vehicle identification number, the plant uses the manufacturer's code X7L.
The company itself began as an importer and car dealer. In 2003, Renault finally decided to build a plant in Russia. An investment of 230 million euros should be spent on the movement manufacturing. To keep costs low, it was decided in late 2004 for the purchase of an existing work of the bankrupt carmaker Moskvich, with whose work had then just renovated and expanded. On behalf of the first Russian Renault, the Renault Mégane from May 1999, followed by the Renault Clio in late 2002 was still produced at Moskvich. The Renault Mégane was from 2004, the last Renault model from the production of the house Moskvich.
