Avtomobilist Karagandy

Awtomobilist Karaganda (Russian Автомобилист Караганда ) was an ice hockey team from the Kazakh city of Karaganda, which was active until 1999, 1966-1996 and 1998.

History

The club was founded in 1966 as Stroitel Karaganda ( Строитель Караганда ) and first played in the third highest Soviet League, which was the team that was in 1980 renamed Awtomobilist win in 1983 and was thus ascended. In the first season of relegation from the League was Perwaja. In the next season the team has made the comeback. The team took from 1992 to 1996 in the International League in part, but mostly took a back seat. In 1993, the team the old name Stroitel. Due to financial difficulties, the club was disbanded in 1996. In 1998, the team was re-established as Awtomobilist, but disbanded after just one season in the Kazakh Cup again.

As an unofficial follow-up team of Awtomobilist applies the HK Saryarka Karaganda, founded in 2006.
