Awutu/Effutu/Senya District

Awutu / Effutu / Senya District is one of 13 districts in the Central Region of Ghana. It is bordered by the districts of Gomoa and Agona in the Central Region. It also borders the Greater Accra Region with the district Ga West. In the north, the district borders the Eastern Region to the West Akim District. Chief Executive of the district with the capital Winneba and 169 974 inhabitants, Solomon KA Quaye.

The Awutu / Effutu / Senya District was first formed in 1988 from the former Gomoa - Awutu - Effutu District. Also from this former district was the Gomoa District.

Constituencies

In the district Awutu / Effutu / Senya two constituencies have been established. In the constituency Awutu / Senya Oppey Abbey won for the party New Patriotic Party (NPP ) in the 2004 parliamentary elections the seat in the Ghanaian parliament. In the constituency Effutu this Samuel Owusu Agyei - of the Party ( NPP) succeeded.
