Axel Noack

Axel Noack ( born September 23, 1961 in Görlitz ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic athlete who was successful in the 1980s and 1990s while walking. Until 1990, he competed for the German Democratic Republic.

On June 21, 1987, he compiled a world record in the 20 - km walk with 1:19:12,0 h in Chemnitz.

At the European Indoor Championships 1990, he won the bronze medal in the 5000 -meter walk.

He was five times GDR champion: 1984 in 4:00:41 h in a 50 km walk, in 1987 in the 10,000 m Track Walk in 39:29,72 min and 20 - km walk in 1:21:34 h, 1990 at 20,000 m track Walk in 1:22:26,10 h and in the GDR indoor Championships in the 5000 -m track Walk in 18:08,11 min.
