Work & life
In 1984 the debut album of Pell's first band, Steeler, on the market, simply called Steeler. It was followed by three more albums with the titles Rulin ' the Earth (1985 ), Strike Back (1986) and Undercover Animal ( 1987). Singer of the band was the later EMI Manager and comedy producer Peter Burtz. In 1989, the band broke up.

In the same year appeared wild obsession, the first album of Pell's new band, which was formed under his name. In addition to Pell were on their debut album, Charlie Huhn, from Gary Moore's backing band, and the band Victory, Volker Krawczak Steeler, Jörg Deisinger of Bonfire, Bodo Smuszynski, Jörg Michael of the Mekong Delta and Running Wild, George Hahn and Rüdiger König hear. 1991 appeared the second album Nasty Reputation, harder than its predecessor. There had been a number of line-up changes. Instead of chicken Rob Rock took over the vocals of Impellitteri, Deisinger and Smuszynski had left the band without replacement. Instead cock and King now took Kai Raglewski the keyboard parts.
In 1992, Eternal Prisoner on the market, on the Jeff Scott Soto had replaced Rob Rock. Then Raglewski left the band. Julie Greaux was hired as a substitute and played until 1996 on a live and two studio albums. Drummer Jörg Michael, meanwhile, had in addition to his AR Connected Pell - work of the band Stratovarius. In Magic 1997 was with Christian Wolff again a new keyboardist heard. 1998 Soto left the band. Johnny Gioeli Hardline debuted as the new singer on Oceans of Time. Besides well-known hits such as "In The Air Tonight " by Phil Collins and U2's " Beautiful Day " Axel and the rest of the band have made eight more songs and missed them the typical ARP sound. On 22 February 2008, the second double DVD released by Axel Rudi Pell Live Over Europe with names. 2012 appeared the new album Circle of the Oath. In 2013 there were no concerts. The band will return to the stage in February 2014. Successor is Bobby Rondinelli (including ex- Black Sabbath ), who will also play on a new album which will be released in January 2014. This is recorded since July 22, and is to appear on January 17, 2014. It is called Into The Storm.
For the 25th anniversary in 2014 will play Axel Rudi Pell on the Bang Your Head Festival, a special Axel Rudi Pell & Friends show. He will also appear with his former band Steeler.

Work as a journalist
Between 1986 and 1993, Pell worked for the then still based in Dortmund magazine Metal Hammer. At first he was a freelancer and in 1988 image editor. Occasionally, he wrote articles and reviews under the pseudonyms Winfried Kuhl and Dirk Schreiber. When the Metal Hammer was sold to the Swiss publisher Jürg Marquard in 1993, the editors moved to Munich, Pell announced.
