Axel Schandorff

Carl Axel Schandorff ( born March 3, 1925 in Copenhagen) is a former Danish racing cyclist.

Axel Schandorff was active from 1946 to 1953 as a specialist for short-term events on the track until 1950 as an amateur. In 1946 he was in Zurich vice world champion in the sprint of the amateurs and 1948 in Amsterdam a second time. In 1949, he finished third at the prestigious Sprint Classic Grand Prix de Paris. Nine times he was Danish sprint champion in the amateurs like the professionals.

1948 started Schandorff at the Olympics in London and won the bronze medal in the sprint, time trial, he finished fifth.

Axel Schandorff is the father of a ballet dancer Silja Schandorff.
