Axien is a district of the city of Anna castle in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt. Until 31 December 2010 Axien was an independent municipality with the districts Axien, Gehmen and Kähnitzsch.

Geography

The village is located about 35 km southeast of Wittenberg and about 20 km north of Torgau in the lowlands on the east bank of the Elbe at an old Elbarm. In the south, the area borders on Saxony.

History
