Ayacucho Department, San Luis

The department of Ayacucho is located north of San Luis Province in the western center of Argentina and is one of nine administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the provinces of La Rioja and Cordoba, to the east by the departments of Junín and Libertador General San Martín, on the south by the departments Coronel Pringles and Belgrano and to the west by the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan.

The capital of the department of Ayacucho, San Francisco del Monte de Oro.
