Etymology

' Ayam ' means in the language of chicken and ' Cemani ' means black in Javanese.

Origin

Originally spread was the chicken in Central and East Java and Sumatra and Madura. In Europe, it was first known in the 1920s by the description of Dutch immigrants from Indonesia. Since 2003 it has been recognized in the Netherlands as a breed. About the Netherlands it was introduced in Belgium and Germany.

Features

The most striking feature of the Cemani is the fact that it is completely black. Not only the plumage, the head attributes (comb and wattles ), but also the skin and the meat. With his long legs and sharp claws it is considered a very movable chicken fight chicken wrap.
