Ayran

Ayran is a refreshing drink from the Caucasus and Anatolia. It is typically prepared on the basis of yoghurt, water, and salt.

To prepare yogurt and water in a 2:1 ratio with a little salt ( max. 2 %) stirred frothy. The base is full-fat yogurt made ​​from sheep's or cow's milk with strong acidifying cultures (Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus ).
