Ayze

Ayse, also written Ayze, is a village in Haute - Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Ayse is at 482 m above sea level. M., east of Bonneville, about 26 km east-southeast of the city of Geneva (air line). The village extends slightly increased on the northern slope of the valley of the Arve, in the Savoy Alps at the southern foot of the Môle, in Faucigny.

History

The territory of Ayse has been inhabited since the Neolithic period.

Attractions

The village church of Ayse was built in the 17th century. Also worth mentioning are the Chapelle de l' Etraz and a manor house dating from the 15th century.

Population

With 2019 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Ayse one of the smaller towns in the Haute-Savoie region. Since the late 1960s, a striking population growth was recorded thanks to the attractive residential area. Outside the old town center numerous single-family homes were built.

Economy and infrastructure

Also, the Bonneville station on the railway line from Annemasse via La Roche- sur- Cluses Foron is easily accessible from Ayse.
