Azadiya Welat
Azadiya Welat is the only Kurdish-language daily newspaper published in Turkey. From the 1990s, she appeared as a weekly newspaper under various names, every day since August 15, 2006. The editorial was located until 2003 in Istanbul before moving to Diyarbakir.
" Azadiya Welat " means " The freedom of the Fatherland". Often the newspaper is also called short " Welat ", " The Fatherland ".
Legal proceedings
The newspaper was repeatedly occupied by temporary publication ban. Substance these were the fact that the newspaper violated Article 6 of the counter-terrorism Act No. 3713 of 12 April 1991, among other propaganda for a terrorist organization have operated (here, the Kurdistan Workers' Party ). Also responsible editors were occupied for the same reasons with imprisonment.
