Azilal

Azilal (Arabic: أزيلال ) is a Moroccan provincial capital on the north side of the High Atlas in the region of Tadla- Azilal.

Location

Azilal is located about 163 km ( driving distance ) east of Marrakech, at an altitude of about 1350 m above sea level. inst. Beni- Mellal The city is located about 82 km northeast.

Population

The roughly 30,000 residents are in the majority Berber; their language is Tamazight. The city's population has rapidly increased in recent decades (1994: 18,080 / 2004: 27,719 ); the population increase is due primarily to the migration of Berber families from the mountainous regions of the High Atlas.

Economy
