On December 7, 1963 closed the Ambassador to 1965 as Star Bingo Club zueröffnen again after it was acquired by the chain Star Cinema. After it was as Astra Cinema reopened in 1974 one more time, ended in July 1983 its function as a movie theater and was eventually converted into a mosque for the local Turkish- Muslim community. The renovations were funded by the UK Turkish Islamic Association. In 1994, the auditorium was gutted and all cinema elements removed. The outer walls were decorated with mosaics; the two domes at the entrance area has always adorn the building and were not only attached by the renovation work.

Turks, who initially felt reluctant to visit a " non-Turkish " mosque, welcomed the type of services that are now being held in Turkish rather than in English or Arabic.
